Established in 1844, West Brandywine is mainly a bedroom community of approximately 7,706 people. The Township consists of about 13.248 square miles. We are located between the east and west branches of the Brandywine River.

The Township has a full time 24/7 Police Department and maintains over 31 miles of Township roads. There is also a municipal utilities system operated by the Township Municipal Authority. Full time office staff are available during the workweek.
